FAQ

Your questions, answered.

The things people ask us most — answered plainly and honestly. If yours isn't here, just get in touch.

Is it really free?

Yes — completely free to you. There's no charge for finding a course, for help with your application, or for guidance on student finance. There's no catch and no hidden fee at any stage.

How are you paid, then?

We're paid by the universities we work with when a student enrols. That's how we can offer our guidance to you at no cost. Because we're funded this way, we don't describe ourselves as independent — but we'll always be honest with you about your options.

Do I need A-levels?

Not necessarily. Many universities accept a range of qualifications and experience — including Access to Higher Education courses, BTECs, and relevant work experience. We'll help you understand which routes might be open to you.

How does student finance work?

For most people it involves a tuition fee loan and, often, a maintenance loan to help with living costs — with repayments linked to what you earn after you finish. The details depend on your circumstances, so we'll talk you through what's likely to apply to you, in plain English. For official figures we'll also point you to the government's student finance service.

Can I study part-time or around a job?

Often, yes. Plenty of courses can be studied part-time, in the evenings, or flexibly, which can make study possible alongside work or family. We'll help you find options that realistically fit your life.

Will you guarantee me a place?

No — and anyone who does should be treated with caution. Admissions decisions are made by universities, not by us. What we can do is help you put forward a strong, confident, well-prepared application and support you throughout.
